Twenty-two year old Ben Davis from Much Marcle in Herefordshire took a slightly unique root through karting, progressing quickly through the short circuit ranks to race in the impressive MSA British Superkart Championship on long circuits. He showed talent from a young age in the junior categories as he quickly progressed to race the 140mph Superkarts, winning the BSA Clubman Challenge Championship in his rookie long circuit season. Ben raced in the championship for four years and was always a front runner, achieving race wins and countless podium finishes.
After graduating with a degree in Law, Ben sought to advance his career into cars and spent time gaining corporate partners in order to race in the Michelin Clio Cup Series. With extremely limited testing, Ben made his car racing debut at Snetterton with Finesse Motorsport Ltd. He made an immediate impression and starred on race day achieving front-running pace, winning the Race Sport Class in both races and finishing 5th and 7th places overall to the delight of his wide-spread support and title sponsor for the event.

In 2015, Ben raced in the first round of Michelin Clio Cup Series at Rockingham and qualified an incredible P3 in the soaking wet conditions. This was the first time he had driven the car in the wet, demonstrating the talent and potential he has. He ended the hard-fought races in 4th, 7th and 4th. The inexperienced racer showed his determination and pace despite suffering contact from a number of drivers.
Ben then looked to even bigger prospects in order to forward his racing career and in particular, to the Renault UK Clio Cup. He attracted sponsorship from local hauliers A.B.E (Ledbury) Limited and entered into the penultimate weekend of the championship at the prestigious Silverstone circuit. Going in to the weekend having only driven the car once, the learning curve was very steep. He got to grips very quickly and after a tricky qualifying (not hooking up a lap in the all important slipstream) starting the races in 10th, he made amazing progress against far more experience opposition. In race 1 he closed down the leading pack and battled his way to 6th position, setting the best sector 2 time of anybody in the process. In race 2, the rookie driver made a ballistic start and was up to 5th, chasing down the four title protagonists. Unfortunately, contact from behind dropped him places and damaged the car, eventually coming across the line in 7th place.

For 2016, Ben is looking to raise the budget to complete a full season in the Renault UK Clio Cup and has already had a brilliant response as a result of his performance at Silverstone.
